What is a facet block?
A facet block is performed to treat or diagnose certain type of back or neck pain.
How long will it take?
You will be at Advanced Medical Imaging approximately 45 minutes.
What should I expect?
A Radiologist will explain and answer questions you may have, in addition will perform this test. A local anesthetic will be injected into the skin in the area being examined. Using CT guidance, the Radiologist will insert a thin needle in to your facet joint. A local anesthetic and steroid are then injected.
Can I drive home?
You must have a designated driver to take you home.
What should I expect after the procedure?
You may return to your normal activities and diet after the procedure.

Sacro-Iliac (SI) Injection
What is an SI injection?
An SI injection is a diagnostic procedure to confirm that the joint is the source of your pain.
What should I expect?
A Radiologist will explain and answer questions you may have, in addition will perform this test. A local anesthetic will be injected into the skin around the SI area. Using CT guidance, the Radiologist will place a thin needle into the SI joint. A long acting anesthetic and steroid are injected.
How will I feel after the procedure?
Occasionally your leg could be numb for a few hours following the procedure. This is normal; you should take safety precautions to prevent falling.
Can I drive after the appointment?
No. Due to the possibility of leg numbness you must have a designated driver.
When can I resume normal activities?
You can return to your normal activities once your affected limb has returned to normal feeling.
